Between Smartphones, Tablets and Wearables

i-tec Consulting visits the Mobile World Congress

Like this year, the Mobile World Congress has taken place in Barcelona for the past years. The highlights of 2017 were the new products from Samsung and smartphones with 4K-HDR-displays or split screen functions. A big comeback was celebrated by Nokia with the revival of their iconic mobile phone Nokia 3310.

While the phone still has its old fashioned design like in the year 2000, the Nokia 3310 also has various beneficial functions. Next to entertainment features like an integrated MP3-Player and an UKW-Radio, the biggest change lies in the display. Now the 2,4 inch-display is colored an suits the colorful plastic case. However, the biggest benefit in comparison to other smartphones is the battery life. In a standby mode the battery can last a whole month.

After the faux pas with the burning Galaxy S7, Samsung hasn’t presented a new smartphone this year. However, it has brought out three new products. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, with its HDR-Display, four AKG-speaker and the integrated S-Pen is a major competition for the Apple iPad. The Galaxy Book on the other hand contains an Intel-processor, an 8 GB working storage, up to 256 GB data storage, Windows 10 and a docking keyboard to suit business customers. Next to Tablets the suitable controllers for the Gear VR were also presented.

The next Mobile World Congress will take place on the 26th of February until the 1st of March 2018.
